It's beta week! The last Home Assistant beta of 2025 starts Wednesday.

Last weeks I've been working on some Home Assistant automation blueprints to work with a Telegram bot.
There is a blueprint for alerts, for /commands to be used in the chat, and to send Assist commands in the bot.

That might be a good reason to take my Harmony Hub out of the drawer again
Forgot to mention that this new blueprint requires 2025.4.0, so for now it only works with the beta.
The reminders are stored in a todo list, and automatically removed from the list as soon as it has been sent out.

A new Home Assistant beta is released and to try out some of the new functions I created a new blueprint. It allows you to set reminders using voice, which will be sent out to the person you specify. It uses a script which is the tool used by the LLM, and an automation to actually send the reminder.
The last week I've been busy creating #homeassistant blueprints for voice commands. Right now my new Github repo has blueprints for 🌦 weather forecasts (both local and LLM), 📅 calendar entries (local and LLM) and list ✅ todo items (only local). more to come! 💙https://github.com/TheFes/ha-blueprints
Both blueprints enable you to play music assisted by an LLM, so you can say something like "Play the album which has a baby in a swimming pool swimming towards a bank note on the cover"

When I took it out of my pocket I had to confirm I was okay, it apparently detected a car crash 😂

HP ProDesk opened to install a memory upgrade
Hooray! 🎉 The operation was a success. 👨⚕️ My HP ProDesk Proxmox server now runs on 32GB of memory! Immediately doubled the memory assigned to the Home Assistant VM 👍

For my 5yo I made an Ulanzi clock show the current time, but also where we are (downstairs/upstairs, indicated above or below the icon) and how long it'll be before it's time to start the day. When he noticed I changed when this mode was activated, he sighed: "you changed something.. again..." 😂😅
Apparently I've been a good boy this year, and Sinterklaas was so kind to gift me 2x16GB memory for my new Proxmox server. So I'll be playing operations later today :)

The HA 2024.12 beta brings a much requested feature to voice commands, fallback to an LLM voice assistant 🎉 You can now set an LLM to first try if it works completely local using the built in sentences, if that doesn't work it will use the LLM.

Here's my new home for my Home Assistant server, a refurbished HP ProDesk 600 G3. 🥳
HAOS is running in a Proxmox virtual machine, with enough power left to also run a small webserver. Hopefully Sinterklaas will have a memory upgrade ready for me 😊
