Just a reminder that a staggering number of Black women have also lost their jobs due to capitulation to this administration. That deserves more outrage.
That really stuck with me as a former and completely disillusioned Christian. This idea that being good for goodness sake (to quote a Xmas song), will take me to any heaven that might exist bc God is not a person, but a manifestation of true kindness care and equality . 🤷🏾♀️
There was a guy on TikTok who discussed this using the Chronicles of Narnia & Aslan. A character worshipped a diff god but still went to “heaven” & Aslan said, every time you practiced justice, kindness etc in their name, you were still worshipping me, bc i am the embodiment of those things.
If you found that Jimmy Kimmel getting pulled due to FCC coercion was a heinous attack on free speech (& it sure as hell is!) wait till you hear about the 10,000 books that have been banned in schools & libraries!

Librarians as a group are sensitive to the bans and who is being harmed by them, but other ppl seem okay with denial for now ☹️
Imo libraries are our strongest defense here, but they need our support. Activists have taken up building open access “little free libraries” that include the banned books:
