Project A-Ko- An incredibly fun film from the 80's. A-ko, who fiercely defends her childhood friend C-ko, and her rival, B-ko, face off in a brawl of tremendous power while the planet is being invaded by aliens. It's absolutely hilarious, and I enjoy this one a lot.
AKIRA- A highly ambitious film that aged like fine wine. This movie is quite hard to watch if you are not a fan of horror, but simply put- The leader of a biker gang in a dystopian city of Neo Tokyo attempts to stop his friend from wreaking havoc on the world with his newfound telekinetic abilities.
InuYasha- This anime has a ton of fillers, but it's simply Rumiko Takahashi's style of writing, and the fillers tend to be so hysterical that I cannot help but love them. Regardless of the slow pacing in the storyline, this anime is iconic for a reason- InuYasha needs to sit the hell down 😂
Fullmetal Alchemist- I also grew up watching this series as a kiddo, and I loved it. Then the remake eventually came out years later, and I loved that as well, maybe even more than the 2003 series. If you guys want the greatest adventure in anime ever made, I HIGHLY recommend this one.
Pokemon- I grew up watching this from time to time. I had some VHS tapes of both of the anime and the first two movies. I didn't watch every single episode of the anime, but I remember having a ton of fun watching this wonderful trio on screen. Every time, they made me laugh so much and still do!
Flip Flappers- A more or less experimental type of anime, in my opinion. Two girls meet one day and collect stones, which grant them wishes and the ability to travel various worlds, brought by illusions, together. If you enjoy the anime produced by Trigger, this one was done by some of their staff!
Serial Experiments Lain- A bizarre and episodic anime. A unique take on how the internet can affect us psychologically. Impressively, this anime was released in 1998, so it was really ahead of its time. It's really abstract, so it may take some thinking to understand its themes.
My Neighbor Totoro- This is the kind of movie that essentially displays how dreams are like during your childhood. It is a nice film to watch if you want smth to relax you, especially after a hard day.
