A meaningful moment in my plant pathology journey, fueled by my passion for nematology, bacteriology, and biotech. Grateful for support from UCD Plant Pathology, APS, industry partners, and especially the guidance and lab support from Drs. Shahid Siddique & Gitta Coaker. #PlantHealth2025 πͺ±π¦ π±πΊ
I'm deeply thankful to APS for the Travel Award and to my advisor and lab for their support. This encouragement means a lot and inspires me to keep learning and sharing with the community.
Snapshots from yesterday's APS Gives Back: Native Roots Volunteer Experience field trip. Thank you volunteers!

Itβs my great honor to be part of this project and happy to see this part of my thesis work finally out in Nature Plants!
Amazing talk (and videos) in plenary 2 from Xiangyi Ding ( @danstarrucdavis.bsky.social ) about biophys constraints in cytoplasm. #Celegans cytoplasm is more like jelly than honey (human cells), plus found gene that constrains this mess particle diffusion. #worm25

Inspirational talk from Pam Padilla highlighting ways to broaden impact of our research to broader communities. #worm25
Historic Worm Comedy Show β¨
My name on the winner list of the raffles π
Happy to catch up with Lesilee and Laurel (my C. elegans mentors π the ones who taught me how to culture worms). I also got to meet Jui-Ching, a professor at NTU Medical School (Taiwan) who graduated from Lesileeβs lab.
#worm25 was such a special experience for me as a first-time attendee. I felt truly honored to speak in the parasitism sessions and grateful for the chance to meet Nobel laureates. It felt almost unreal! Loved the comedy show π and I was so happy to win a worm atlas shirt π.
I went to the poster yesterday at #worm25 and it's fantastic. Would love to try the method in the future. π
Fantastic Nobel Moment at #worm25 with Victor Ambros and Gary Ruvkun.
That's cool! Looking forward to seeing more in the future π€©π

Happy to write this News & Views highlighting a groundbreaking study on #Agrobacterium. By combining mathematical modelling with quantitative live-cell imaging, the study uncovered a density-dependent synergistic and antagonistic effect on #AMT
π EFR-mediated PTI restricts transient transformation and genome editing, but not T-DNA integration.
This study combines floral stage targeting π·, immune evasion π‘οΈ, and Agrobacterium engineering π§ to boost plant genome editing efficiency.

Proud of Siddique Lab undergrads at the UC Davis Undergraduate Research Conference! Aarish gave a fantastic talk (rainbow effect says it all!), Emma, Lisa, and Katelin rocked their posters. Shoutout to Jonathan from Coaker Lab for his awesome damage receptor talk! Cheers to all the inspiring souls!
Our Research Briefing on the tandem kinase proteins paper is online now!
Curious about the story behind our TKP paper?
