I’ve been wearing tights a lot in the winter because of my snow boots (the logic of this is not wholly clear to me either now that I write it out bc I have plenty of wide pants that could accommodate the boots but anyway) this makes the continued survival of the other tights all the more notable

Anyway I think they’re ok. Sometimes they get something that looks visually like a snag but you can wiggle the fabric back to normal. Maybe you can do that with other tights too but I’ve had some satisfying tension redistribution moments with them.

Not that I’ve spent a lot of time contemplating that….

But imagine how vexing their business would be if the tights truly never failed and if, by their own excellency, they gradually satisfied every customer until there was no one left to sell to, continually discounting their way toward a hosiery perfection so complete it extinguishes its market…

I think I legitimately paid one dollar for each pair (maybe two dollars…?) it just makes no sense.

I have nothing against Sheertex as a company, but I do want to say this: in 2014 I bought a stack of completely unremarkable black tights on clearance at Urban Outfitters (just their in-house brand), and I still have several pairs in rotation. They’re basically like new…
