The special is a cool idea. I think something like this fits more with hero shooters than what splatoon actually is. It just needs some tweaks to it to feel more fair to deal with. It simply does too much for too little work.
How often I'll go against one or even two tac-coolers on the other team and I won't get one for the entire rotation at times is crazy. It gets so one-sided at times and it's such a bore to deal with. Give me something for taking down an enemy that is cooler buffed. This thing needs a downside to it.
I believe that the special itself does too much for practically nothing and can often times reward players for making stupid plays. In a more controlled environment like private matches I think the idea of working around the special is neat.
In solo-q it simply is not it.
Likely a very hot take (solo q environment wise) but tacticooler is such a free special and has no real reason to exist at all other than to make matches feel one sided and stupidly unfair.
Why should a team get rewarded with insane boosts + insta revive for simply existing?

I guess that last bit could be applied to a lot of other weapons. Point being that it's a very strong weapon that I'm not seeing being used to its full potential in solo q, if rarely at all.
Need that "how to play s-blast" video so people can learn and do more than just hop blast π
Anyways while I do love the weapon and its kit I am just sick of seeing so many quick respawn builds of this weapon wildly holding W and spam aoe jumping. It's very easy to deal with and I wish players would make full use of this weapon's capabilities and not just pick it because "easy blast mode".
"Yeah that's point" ok but almost nobody I run into even bothers with the regular long ranged fire mode. It's so rare that I've maybe run into two or three good players that do mix their game up very well.
The jump aoe + burst combo is a tad bit brain dead and that's what I see people do way more.
This is more of an observation based on my solo q experience but I'm fairly confident in saying that S-Blast 91 is likely gonna get a small nerf at some point.
It's great to see way more people using it, but damn do people only really seem to use it for the jump aoe + burst combo.
Got a teeny bit greedy at the end but was fun playing with rapid deco after nearly a yearπ₯
