i am not generally a "go through the hoops to write a comment I don't think will really be read" kind of guy, but for a plan THIS bad, by a guy I hate THIS much... I'll make the exception

huh. i never read what was planned, but maybe i can let it go now
I don't hear it that way anymore, but when Red Medicine came out, I know I wasn't the only person to hear it as a significant stylistic departure. Wondering now if they might have been responding in part to Albini's approach, but integrating it in a way that was more aligned with their core identity
Doc does Moebius?
Good God y'all, this sounds like a whole DIFFERENT BAND. (A different band that has Guy and Ian singing, to be sure, but this is way more radical than differences between the Tommy and Ed mixes of "Tim," f'rinstance.) Probably over-simplifying to say this is Fugazi from Chicago, but not totes wrong.
WELL HELLO
(i was never cool enuff to have someone quietly slip me a cassette of this ... but if i had been, i would take this chance to upgrade)
OK, as the actual journalist who has been unwittingly caught up in the Claude rumor this morning (who also covers AI disinformation) let me clear this one up for the record.
To recap: Claude kind of implicated itself in the Iran school bombing citing (in part) my reporting...
I think the only car I didn't mention was the cursed one, a Sentra. Lesson learned: make sure the heater works, even when you are buying a car in midsummer. It was totaled when I got rear-ended, which was a win-win. (though I think that's when we bought the ๐ Saturn ๐ so that didn't work out either)
... for a while after I saw that, I had to cover TVs with a towel or something before I could sleep in a hotel room.
Screenshot of a book cover showing an illustration of a crow perched on an "ICE" jacket lying in the middle of a snow-lined road under the light of a full moon. The cover reads "ICE Out " by Charles de Lint. Text to the right of the cover reads "ICE came to Newford. Big mistake." and "Download for free!"
Urban fantasy author Charles de Lint just published a new "novelet" and released it for free, his stories of myth and magic and community and found family are full of so much love and hope and we could all use some of that right now

"๐จ 110,110 have gone out to all officials in the past 24 hours!"
That's the biggest number I've ever seen by a factor of 2.

My conversations with Resist Bot always be like: "Your subject is 6 letters too long. Please reply with a more concise subject, thanks!"
I just saw the explanation for why a school was targeted, and I feel literally ill.
Urgent mutual aid ask from a friend:
Eviction notices go out March 5, and right now we have approximately 40 families that are at risk. We need to raise $50K in 48 hours to help keep people housed.
If you can, please donate right now to the Gethsemane Community Care Fund:
(oops, fixed it, thanks for the heads up)
introduce yourself with 5 cars you've owned (using a generous definition of "owned")

19?? ford van (bought to tour with a band that promptly dissolved)
2016 lincoln mkc (not on purpose)

My birthday is two weeks from today & I'd love to get this to $2k by then, if possible. It'll cover web hosting & some other recurring annual expenses looming on the horizon.

i'm just paralyzed by the bottom-to-top alphabet. what?
just as a thought experiment, though, I like imagining what music from you that might FIT such a cover might sound like. in my head, it takes "Instant Night" as a starting point. it might fuck some people up to hear it.
(... and now I am vanishing down a rabbit hole of Agents+ various collaborators EPs. A fine batch of tunes this week!)
