I remember how the coffee freaked me out the first time I was watching it. I was angry at Aziraphale for taking it but what choices did he have? They are both in a trap with deep roots.

... But the insiders know the subtext. I also think that they had a plan for those kind of events but it happened too fast, something went too wrong. Aziraphale did the best he could with the data he had but they misunderstood each other and Crowley's safety was at stake.

I think Metatron threaten him and Crowley somehow. Maybe it was a metaphor with the coffee. Maybe he did put holly water in the coffee. Or maybe we saw everything we had to see from their talk and mentionning Crowley was enough. In toxic familly, threats can be disguised as normal conversation...

I have moments where I need a snack in the morning and another in the afternoon because if I'm angry it's the end of the world, the feeling drowns me (and my rationnality) x)

It just occurred to me that he pulled an Aziraphale that night. He didn't need to be rescued from Mrs. H., he could've snapped his fingers at any point and made the whole awkward situation go away. Instead, he let Aziraphale rescue him. "Rescuing me makes him so happy."
