I'm exhausted. Almost going to write an op-ed. Facts matter. Every news outlet and online folk is/are bad mouthing Epipedobates anthonyi. Proportadly Epibatidine, a minor trace alkaloid found in an otherwise harmless (noxious not toxic per se) frog, misinformation in the murder of Alexei Navalny🐸

Epibatidine a trace alkaloid described by John W. Daly (a late friend of mine) there isn't enough in a single frog to kill a mouse. In synthesized form, or an analog it would take many thousands of micrograms to kill an adult human. E. anthonyi is considered noxious, not toxic (Kahn et al. 2016).

I doubt Epibatidine. It would kill the same way Fenatal would kill. I'm surprised Russian scientists synthesized Epibatidine in 2013. I published everything known about that alkaloid in 2016. Abbott Pharma made an analog that failed clinical trials as a analgesic; ABT-594. I'll post later more.

Welp this is scary. A synthesis method for Epibatidine was published in 2013 by the Russian State Research Institute of Organic Chemistry and Technology.

Finding it odd that the pyridine alkaloid epibatidine was used to poison Alexei Navalny. It is of little or no consequence from a frog & extraordinarily difficult to synthesize in a LD50 quantity, if not impossible. It is not a neurotoxin; it is an analgesic. It would not cause a "painful" death.🐸
