An unexpected benefit of having chronic insomnia and an overall dysregulated sleep schedule is that jet lag doesn’t seem to be as big of an issue as I thought!
A few solid naps and I am reasonably adjusted enough to participate in my new time zone.

Had to go to the ER last week. Brought my purifier and was wearing a mask & asked the care team to do the same. Dr tried to lecture me about how covid was over and rates were low and shows me the CDC website of all things when they’ve has been 💩ing the bed on covid for years now.

Telling myself it’s normal to feel so much anxiety, that I’m actually okay. But it’s another thing entirely to have to sit in the persistent sensation because the cause is not something I have enough data on to be able to definitely tell whether I will be okay.

He'd never tried to consciously do that before either, but it was worth a shot. He felt the crisp winter air in his mind's eye as it bit his skin. The sound of his boots crunching on the snow in the forests around the capital. That was unusual. He hardly ever left the estate grounds. He let himself fall deeper. The distinctive clearing in the forest, surrounded by tall pine trees on each side. Edda sweeping the snow outside of a small cabin or hut. He had no idea if it was real. And even if it was, could he ever find that spot?

Ah, I love this one! My whole story is very heavily themed around memory. This snip features Prince Adavain, my MC who has a prophetic dreams, though he doubts his own ability. This is the first instance where it happens, relating to my other main character Edda.

If you’ve got a yard, build habitat for them with native plants and your place will soon be a haven. I did just that and in 5 years I’ve got dragonflies, bees, fireflies, butterflies, birds…the whole 9.

It also helps people find answers who may be suffering in silence, not knowing they may have long covid.

It’s an exhausting cognitive dissonance. And if you bring up the possibility of covid, it’s like people completely turn off their ears. I really. don’t. fcking. get it.
