What are your ratios?
What are your ratios?
Iβm exhausted just seeing your pictures of travel show up on my feed. Youβre built different. Truly the hardest working man in the MTG business. Looking forward to catching coverage this weekend!
Well definitely talk about cube, but I think our audience is largely looking for retail limited content
Googling showed that hobbit and Star Trek are small, but maybe only one of them is?
Small Sets are gonna be the death of our podcast. Spent an hour yesterday mapping out the schedule of episodes for the year and there are just multiple 4 week chunks of "????" because three releases this year are small sets...
Generational taste is really interesting. My parents and in-laws seem to respond way more positively to things that are rigidly one genre or tone like βHamnet than something like βSinnersβ or βOBAAβ both of which I loved.
I wonder when my tastes will calcifyβ¦
Uhhh arena you good?
Add an additional clean-up step, of course
I wouldn't dare bore ben with that much of a deepdive, but i'll be dropping a youtube video later this week about my tourney report. I think it's miscategorized as "control deck with combo finishi" and is more midrange that pivots well. And torpor orb and graveyard hate are bad SB vs it
If anyone is looking to pick up this deck for whatever reason (I think it's really fun, resilient, and actually kind of broadly misunderstood) here's my sideboard mapping I came up with for the tourney

I guess BO1 1 loss to give is also the structure for Arena Directs, which I also donβt participate in. Hmmβ¦.
Maybe? Iβm an ECL apologist, I just think one loss to give in BO1 is abysmal. Magic inherently has unwinnable games even if you draft well. Stuck on lands, mulligans, nut curve from opponent. I guess weβll see how folks feel the next time around
This is healing
The Limited Championship Qualifier on arena is an absurd structure, feels lottery ticket adjacent. I hope the team rethinks the "bo1, 1 loss to give" format in the future because I think it's a horrible player experience. Won't be participating next time if it's the same.
4-3 and out of Arena Champs. Really happy with my prep and performance today and it feels good to have come to an eerily similar list of Excruciator as the PT champ did for this weekend despite being on my own.
Good riddance constructed for a while now!
Thanks for the support out there!
I don't have ads on my site to avoid artificially inflated word counts. Clear, concise, and accurate is my goal. This means my site runs on people's support, so if it's useful to you and you want to help out:

Me: I should get some BO1 ECL prep in to dust off the cobwebs
Me: WHAT THE-
Wow thatβs some impressive company to keep! Iβll do my best π«‘
Oh oh oh I know where that is! Have a great time!
This is something I can do! Thank you!
This deck is chefs kiss so good!
Love to hear it!!
Jonah has gone full Sid: biting off the heads of his Toy Story Legos and assembling this monstrosity
The decathlon not being an annual event is such a missed opportunity. Was something that really brought players from all different areas of the game together. Plus it was super fun!!
Iβve been playing exclusively the PT winning deck and having a blast
Speed Ran to Mythic, dare I say Standard isβ¦fun?
In my experience it doesnβt do enough vs any of those decks. Itβs a speed bump at best. Maybe itβs a necessary evil, but man I had not been happy playing it and Iβm usually thrilled to see it brought in when Iβm on those 3 decks
I am but a mere net-decker limited player prepping for a constructed tournamentβ¦.
BUT
this card has somehow made its way into every sideboard despite not actually doing anything remotely resembling a whole card outside of against Reanimater
What am I missing?
Shallot Pasta for the whole family!
