Iβm not typically a good fit for thriller or grim leanings. Best of luck to you :)
Hey no worries. If I understand your question, I would say that most are likely wanting stories with marginalized MCs being told b writers sharing that marginalization and worldview. Diverse characters are always lovely to see across all stories :) #RevPit #MeetTheEditor

Hi :) This is my 1st #RevPit, but I can tell you from my RoundTableMentor years that my priority order is query β> first chapter β> synopsis. Youβre right that itβs impossible to read 100+, so some decisions do happen quite quickly. As w querying, the query and first pages are vital. #MeetTheEditor
Hi :) Horror romantasy would definitely be within my realm of interest. Best of luck to you!
Thank you, thatβs so kind of you to say. I do take the responsibility very seriously. And sorry for all the typos ahead of point 2. Bluesky glitched on me and I had to Frankenstein monster everything into a different window for it to go through π

...- changing from 3rd to 1st PoV
- adding conversations/chapters that show us more about the characters' motivations/emotional wounds/wants.
- starting the novel at a more compelling point
So really, anything. Can I say, I'll know it when I see it? :)

Great question. Generally, I'll be looking for a novel that has a hefty 1-3 things that need improving, that will make a significant impact. I know that's a bit vague, but things I've had mentees do in the past include:
- adding genre-specific descriptions/atmosphere...

My pleasure! And cutting 5k is great! That's a good chunk. The more you cut, the better you get at cutting :) It's definitely a learned skill.
Ooo I really liked the Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi
As unique as that sounds, I would not be a good fit. My love of historical is pre-1900s, and generally my interests tend toward mid/high fantasy. Best of luck to you!
In short, you never stop learning in sensitivity and authenticity reading, even within your own marginalizations, and within intersectionalities, and that is part of why I love it. It's my favorite editorial service bc I love research :) Thank you for the question!

...Then go through my notes and research/consider in more detail and leave notes for the writer.
