Itβs almost like the Liberal Party is trying not to get elected!

Yes, thereβs a plan to deal with fuel shortages. I extracted it from the Govt and MWM publishes so you can follow Iranian conflict national fuel management moves from your lounge room. #auspol
Itβs because he was having a bad hair day.
Good on you! I mean that! π
With respect, there is the government fuel excise that can be reduced. And Iβm sure the government could subsidise transport costs to prevent the cost of food and supermarket goods going up. And use other fiscal policies instead of monetary policy to try and reduce inflation.
Awesome! Then you can walk your talk and make real change!
Today on #IWD Iβm thinking of how a woman is murdered every 5 days by male violence. Of First Nations women being imprisoned at 25 times the rate. Of women seeking asylum in Australia being forced in poverty & homelessness.
In a week, petrol has gone up around 30 cents a litre. And itβs going to get even higher when we run out of our reserve fuel.
This is going to put prices of everything up and drastically increase inflation.
So @jimchalmers.bsky.social, what are you going to do to protect us from this???
Would love to see Francesca Albanese destroy Jillian Segal in a debate.
You should try to get into politics so you can have a real influence in how government deals with climate change. I would love to see real action on climate change. My realism is that I know that neither side of politics will do anything meaningful while beholden to fossil fuel companies.
Sure thing. Fill your boots. You have your views and I have mine. I think both our views (as in, what we would like to see happen) is pretty similar, itβs just that our respective sense of realism differs.
Probably why Trump doesnβt own dogs.
All I know is we canβt all have everything we want all the time. In politics, you have to pick the least awful political parties.
I donβt know about that in a general sense. I know here in Australia, Labor feels like itβs Liberal 2.0. I think being centrist means you can be centre-left on somethings and centre-right on others.
Many serial killers begin their murderous careers by murdering animals first.
Another absolute disgrace in South Australia as the Adelaide University bows to pressure to cancel anyone who speaks out against the slaughter of Palestinians.
The outside influence on our governments and institutions is completely unacceptable.

Youβre even more gorgeous in person! I was delighted to meet you last night! π€©π€©π€©
I honestly donβt think Albo is a bad guy, and I definitely want Labor in power over the Libs ANY day of the week. I do think he is smart enough to listen. The problem is very powerful voices (I.e. Israeli Zionists, fossil fuel oligarchs, lobbyists, etc.) have way too much influence.
These βCentrist flogsβ as you call them are what the world needs. Anyone too far left or right of the centre would be too radical to lead.
Thatβs not to say these leaders have open slather - they still need to be held accountable. But Iβd rather have a βcentrist flogβ than a right wing bigot.
Mark Carneyβs words bring so much hope for the rules-based international world order. The players might be different, but as long as people get out to vote for centrist/progressive governments that can play well with others, I think we might actually be ok.
Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk! π
The rise of the middle powers would mean that we have a proper voice at a grownupβs table that has cern occupied by greed, too much power and too much self-interest.
It also means the billionaire oligarchs of the US will no longer have so much influence on works affairs. (5)
This is giving me so much hope at a time when it feels like everything is falling apart.
Because when the middle powers unite, we no longer have to be the lapdogs of the US, or fear Chinaβs retaliation if we displease the CCP.
(4)
And it makes complete sense. When the βmiddle powersβ work together and create βsynergyβ (using a popular 80s/90s buzzword), these countries can create their own stability, their own strength and their own confidence, knowing they are dealing with stable and rational leaders (3)
Mark Carney isnβt just speaking smooth words that will pass through to the keeper.
Mark Carney is laying the blue print for the NEW world order. Heβs taking power back from the big schoolyard bullies and is bringing together countries that no longer want to be at the whim of the US and China (2)
Today, Canadian PM Mark Carney delivered a strong and completely sensible speech to the Australian Parliament, where he said βIn a world of great power rivalry, middle powers have a choice: compete for favour or combine for strengthβ.
This reason resonates with me so powerfully (1)
SQUEEEEEE! I just got to meet my absolute favourite journalist and author, @milliganreports.bsky.social at a βmeet the Authorβ event at the ANU.
Louise has just released her 4th book, Shellybanks, which I am now super excited to read!
Thanks to Virginia Haussegger for her rock star interview!
I didnβt!! Iβll have to catch it on ABC iview
This is why I am opposed to the US attacking Iran.
Not because I support the murderous Iranian regime that only recently slaughtered over 30,000 protesters. But because I know that this illegal war will kill so many more innocent people.
Iranians do not deserve this. Neither did the Palestinians.
Isnβt it interesting that Trump supporters kept supporting him when there was overwhelming evidence that he raped little girls, but not when he launched a war on Iran?
