The #NHLJets move on from Logan Stanley & Luke Schenn. Ironically, the trade may undo problems the organization started nearly a decade ago. #GoJetsGo
Breaking down the deal, the RosΓ©n addition, and why this move might actually be tidy work by Cheveldayoff.π

How did TBL let that slow entry when Heinola did a poor drop pass there?

The score is nothing special, but at least the underlying results are better than the past few games.

Elias Salomonsson took a bit hit from big Scott Sabourin and has now gone to the #NHLJets room. That's sub-optimal.

Some vets playing fairly rough right now, but not Samberg. He's playing very well. (I probably jinxed him)

The #NHLJets are way worse this year.
Sure, players will have up/down seasons, but the biggest changes are with personnel and ice time.
I thought I'd show a summary of which players were the largest differences in dragging the team down by being added or subtracted, in order.

He's a fine #6, but it's nuanced and really depends on the rest of your roster. It's very situational.
Stanley can be on any good team, but he won't make a team good.

Moneyball isn't perfect... but it gets one point across:
If you have a disadvantage (like WPG with NTCs, UFAs, etc), then you have to operate differently elsewhere otherwise what separates you and other teams is exclusively that disadvantage.

That the current Jets with Bones would be less bad than Arniel, but probably not a playoff team

54%. An improvement, and more realistic to what Bones, a good coach, actually adds.

Yes I know the record since.
The issue is we have a fundamental disagreement in that a record perfectly encapsulates the teamβs performance

As someone who worked in/with the NHL for 10 years and still has friends in exec positions, I donβt feel it morally correct to gamble on hockey.

Jan 12th Columbus was above average Corsi team (52%).
Winnipeg was not even close.
Very different situations.

No oneβs hating Stanley. Im just saying your Morrissey example isnt useful here because thereβs not some budding superstar that Bones could create like last time.
I agree with your first part though.
