I don’t want him to die. I want him to face consequences while he is still alive.

This week has been heavy for Canadians. Especially, those who are trans or those, like me, who love someone who is trans.

What happened in Tumbler Ridge is horrible, but the shooter being trans isn’t relevant. What is relevant? Lack of mental health resources and access to guns.

Gross.

Two things can be true at the same time….1) what the shooter did was horrible 2) the situation could have been prevented if there were better mental health resources and no access to guns.

They say nothing when the shooter is a cis white male - which they almost always are.

It was just something that stood out to me.

Watching CBC and noticing that the residents of Tumbler Ridge being interviewed are referring to the shooter using male pronouns.

Yes, sad combination of mental health issues and access to guns. As a parent, how do you rationalize having guns in the home when your child is in crisis?

Police just stated that BC shooting suspect was known to them and the residence had their guns removed and later returned.

It’s the guns.
