You are right about that. Very little is known about vast areas of medicine. I wish people were a bit more frank about that.

Now comes the ritual humiliation of NFL players. Just a few people speaking out in defense of their own dignity would make a big difference here.
ReformUK is obviously the UK's most disliked party. But under first-past-the-post, they could still get a large majority of seats. I hope that the Labour party wakes up to this before it's too late.
My comment to vigilantes.
"I believe in law and order. Huntley committed a terrible crime and he got a severe sentence as a result. That sentence was NOT that he be beaten to death with an iron bar. Many people here seem not to believe in the laws of the UK, but to prefer the laws of the jungle."

Thanks for those links. It's easy to be sure when someone has polio or covid. But for mental problems, when next to nothing is known about causes, and all you have is a (contested) list of signs and symptoms, it's inevitable that diagnoses will be difficult and boundaries will be contentious.
Fraudulent papers written by AI are becoming a serious problem. Guess which AI is most willing to cooperate with this sort of dishonest fraud?

Markwayne Mullin hid under a desk.... And now he's in command of these felons.

Meanwhile, Charlie Kirk got flags at half staff and his face on a building. Unreal.

A federal judge ordered the Department of Homeland Security to return or replace property taken from unlawfully arrested ICE detainees and released without their belongings, giving the government 30 days to comply.
I'll be interested to hear a refutation with more detail than just a dismissal. No hurry though.
.Thanks -there is no hurry whatsoever.
it's bleakly hilarious to have people complaining that using the word "nazi" to describe people calling for racial cleansing and forced breeding is "rendering the word meaningless," while supporters of the US government use the word "communist" to describe having a functioning healthcare system
I hope that we'll hear eventually.
"A classified report by the National Intelligence Council found that even a large-scale assault on Iran launched by the United States would be unlikely to oust the Islamic republicβs entrenched military and clerical establishment..."
This should be a bright, blinking light catching everyoneβs attention.

The US far right, sorry, 'conservatives'. ('Conserving' what, btw? White supremacy? US hegemony? 'Rapturist' loopy evangelical delusion?)
Lovely people. Not.
The same British newspapers that were looking forward to welcoming Adolf to the country back in the 1930s.

Should zoos still exist? In 2026, how do the arguments about research, conservation and education stack up? This week's Rare Earth was a proper tennis match of ideas, with a brilliant panel. If you fancy some stimulating debate this weekend, listen here: www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/...
