Every now and then I remember the Hybrid wasn't some genetically engineered, mishmash Time Lord-Dalek abomination that would set out and destroy the universe. The Hybrid was a Time Lord and the human he loved so much he broke every known law of time and space to bring her back.

Donald Trump does NOT want you to share this footage of his pathetically tiny birthday parade crowd.

"Know Your Protest Rights. You don't need a permit to protest in response to breaking news and you don't need a permit to march in the streets or along sidewalks, as long as you're not obstructing traffic or access to buildings. When you are lawfully present in any public space, you have the right to photograph anything in plain view, including federal buildings and the police. If you believe your rights have been violated, when you can, write down everything you remember, get contact information for witnesses, and take photographs of any injuries. If you get stopped by the police, ask if you're free to go. If they say yes, calmly walk away. If you get arrested, you have a right to ask why. Otherwise, say you wish to remain silent and ask for a lawyer immediately. Don't sign, say or agree to anything without a lawyer present. If you get stopped by a member of the military or any law enforcement office at a protest, you have the right to remain silent or to tell them that you'll only answer questions in the presence of an attorney-no matter your citizenship or immigration status.β

You have the right to remain silent, even if youβre arrested. You do not have to discuss your immigration status with anyone. If youβre arrested, you can say that you wish to remain silent until speaking with a lawyer. You have the right to refuse consent to a search. If you have valid immigration documents, youβre required to show them. Never provide fake documents. You have the right to record your interaction with immigration agents as long as you do not interfere. If youβre at home, you do not have to open the door. ICE agents may not enter unless they have a warrant signed by a judge (have them slip it under the door). If they force their way in, do not resist, but you can remain silent." Know Your Rights. Turn your phone on airplane mode when not in use. 4. Disable your phone's Face or Touch ID and replace with a 6-digit passcode. 5. Covering your face may help protect your privacy - but depending on where you are, you may be subject to laws that prohibit wearing a mask. Check with your local ACLU affiliate for guidance on masking. 6.Take appropriate precautions and dress comfortably." Black background with light blue ACLU logo.

Trump is waging an assault on our democracyβenabled by deferential courts and a subservient Congress. While he parades in D.C., We the People are rallying to reject his strongman tactics. Iβm fighting alongside you to stop this power grab. HELL NO! No Thrones. No Crowns. No Kings.

A new proposal would allow companies to destroy critical habitat for endangered species. But like us, animals need homes to survive. Today is the deadline to comment! Make your voice heard: www.oregonzoo.org/news/take-ac...

Ethel Barrymore Theatre marquee and Playbill βOthelloβ starring Denzel Washington and Jake Gyllenhaal

If you can manage to get tickets, I highly recommend! Playing thru June 8.
Hopefully the next barrier we overcome is wealth disparity in accessibility. Everyone deserves to see and appreciate great live theater.
I was thrilled to see so many Black audience members. I am not saying Black people cannot be wealthy or cultured enough to enjoy theater and Shakespeare!!! But it made me happy that this production, and the arts in general, continues to break down the barriers between whoβs βinβ and whoβs βout.β
βOthelloβ was electrifying. Jake Gyllenhaal goes toe-to-toe with Denzel Washington and is every bit the compelling villain Iago is meant to be. Kimber Elayne Sprawlβs Emilia is righteous feminine rage personified.
Live theater is one of the oldest human professions and completely unique to our species. No other animal on Earth tells stories for entertainment like we do.
I have no problem paying $320 for a rear orchestra seat (!!) if it meant every person on that production was paid a fair wage with full benefits, but that is often not the case.
The price of seeing shows in NYC, particularly some Broadway shows, is getting out of hand. Access to art should be free, and live theater should be accessible to all.
Small rant.
Context: I was able to travel to NYC for three days and see shows because of my godfather, who passed two years ago and left us some money. I could not afford this otherwise. Of course I would rather he be here instead, but I am so grateful and miss him every day.
