It’s an old sign that workplaces used to hang as a joke:

What kills me is they didn’t even get that right. The rod is not meant to be corporal punishment or beating children. It’s meant to be about guidance (as in “thy rod and thy, they staff comfort me”).

But typical of Xtians, they prefer beatings until morale improves.

I’m sure you WERE traumatized. Silent Gen were the last ones to firmly hold onto the “spare the rod, spoil the child” mentality.

Also a fascinating talk on Protection Magic led by @devinhunter.bsky.social got into some heated discussions. I will not elaborate, apart from saying there was one panelist who I thought was wrong. I was happy to see my friend @thespiritedwitch.bsky.social put them in their place.

Yikes. When did BLUESKY become more toxic than Threads or X? I have never seen so many nasty, insulting posts from all political parties and from all countries.

Nice. I was a printer in college but we also had high speed copiers. A lot of market research firms would come in and have us print copies of their surveys for their clients. They would NEVER get 10,000 submissions and had us make extra copies “of the positive answers” which was so shady.

I worked in advertising for 30 years. I was EVP of one of the largest agencies in the US. Using identical language to a competitor was frowned upon. You’d usually find another way to say the say thing.

I’m sure there is a lot of research. I just find it odd that ALL of the ad agencies choose the identical language of “$19 a month. That’s just 63¢ a day” as if they are the only ones making that claim. On HULU, I see at east four commercials on repeat every night.
