Visiting folks. I’m out walking in 15° f, neck warmer up over my ears under a hoodie, hands balled into fists inside my gloves, thinking I gotta get some winter clothes- a college girl walks by, no hat, no gloves, no scarf, and a pleasant smile that said “Go back to California you soft old man.”

Success! After a brief struggle with ancient video codecs, I have recovered a cleaner copy of at least the broadcast TV edit of the Moviefone spot from my personal backups.
With an added bonus bumper that not many have seen before. 😉

I am watching the MST3K #412: Hercules and the Captive Women. I forgot how often people refer to "Uranus" in this movie. "The mystic secrets of Uranus." "I am dedicated to Uranus." I was doing ok until "The blood of Uranus is eternal." And they do pronounce it "Yer Anus." Cracking up. #Maturity

I know, I heard that from many people back in the day. Leaving the theater everyone I went with was- overall impressions of the film aside- pleasantly surprised by the 3d effects, and some were very impressed. I felt left out

If other people like them they are free to espouse their virtues, their feelings do not impact mine nor do I hope mine impacts theirs.

I have seriously wondered if I have something wrong with my eyes because I really couldn't perceive any of Avatar's more passive 3D effects. And every time I notice it (or any film) trying to give me an *overt* 3D experience, all I can think of is the SCTV Count Floyd sketches

If he uses non-digitally-replaced actors, non-digital physical sets, shoots them with non-3d cameras, and calls them something other than Avatar, he might just save a few bucks, and I might be interested to see a James Cameron movie for the first time in 30 years.
