Ohhh. I'm so sorry.
That is one beautiful, kissable snoot.

WOW! This is such an honor, & Dragon (soon to be 15 yrs old!) is among such amazing company! π to my fabulous editor Shari Dash Greenspan/Flashlight Press, brilliant illustrator Howard McWilliam, teachers, librarians, parents, readers of all ages, & esp my family - who believe in Dragons...and me. π₯°
Illustrated lion in shades of brown and beige watercolors and ink.
I have learned that the act of creating makes me feel good. Surprisingly (to me, anyway), I've also learned that the end product itself has no bearing on the calm, centered, joy I feel afterwards. The act itself does. #art #watercolor #ink #lion
Chills...
I donβt know who needs to hear Jesse Jackson leading the kids on Sesame Street in this beautiful call-and-response reminding them that every child is somebody, but here it is

Thank you! π
Aw, my heart is happy to see kids (of all ages!) still sharing - and enjoying - a little Dragon love! <3
Perhaps a softer landing...?
Love to see the Sedgwick County Zoo putting out a good explainer on why GenAI slop videos of animals are a problem & how to identify them! Itβs succinct, easy to read, and doesnβt shame people for not knowing better. A+ useful link to share with family and friends.

Beautiful illustration!
Ohh, how I loved that book as a child! Thanks for reminding me that I need to read it again.
Be gentle with yourself. You're being strong for others and that's admirable and most worthy. I hope things get better for all of those you love (including yourself!) Sending hugs π
This open letter is EVERYTHING! π
It looks like it's wearing a tiny coat! Love your haiku!π₯°
Colored pencil, pan pastel and collage: Mouse peeking out of the inside of a roll of holiday wrapping paper. Wrapping paper has turquoise background and depicts multicultural children in jewel tones of brown, red, pink, green, purple, yellow and blue.
Paying homage to the brilliant author-illustrator Vanessa Brantley-Newton in this colored pencil/pan pastel/collage piece, who was my collage instructor at Storyteller Academy and inspired me to follow my heart and pursue my art! (Vanessa designed this wrapping paper for Target!) π₯°
Colored pencil on black paper: gray and white cat with yellow-orange eyes inside of orange pumpkin.
It takes a lot of layers (colored pencil) on black paper, but I really am enjoying the process. Learning so much from all of my uber-talented artist friends at the Art Alliance of Central PA! And I do so love drawing kitties. Happy fall, y'all π₯°
That's horrible! I'm so sorry to hear that. π
Halloween decorations: sparkly black bat, witch with big nose in black, witch with big smile in orange, holding pumpkin and broom.
So, we were unpacking Halloween decorations and I inadvertently placed these three into a basket before we decided where to put them. But now, they look like they're having so much fun together, I hesitate to separate them. π
I'm so sorry for your loss. And complicated relationships make it harder. Soft, healing hugs to you and your family.
Always always ALWAYS!!! (Thank you, Debbie, for calling attention to this matter once again. I have no idea WHY the illustrator's name is ever left unsaid. Picture books are a PARTNERSHIP!!!)
Beautiful pic, and your title is pure poetry!
