Did you know that Supplemental Security Income (SSI) is one of only two income support programs for disabled people in the US (three if you count VA benefits), but more than half of its recipients live under the federal poverty line due to decades of neglect?
I think it's best for everyone to understand that the unified class project of billionaires right now is to do to white collar workers what globalization and neoliberalism did to blue collar workers.
What we’re witnessing at the Washington Post is the folly of entrusting self-interested billionaires with any democratic institution, especially a free and independent press. We need to a) permanently bury the myth of billionaire saviors and b) build a world-class public media system.

New post: 20-something college-educated unemployment is higher than we'd expect based on overall unemployment, so it's not just the slowing labor-market.
Chart is actual unemployment rate minus the projected one (from 1989-2019) by age. It's high for college people in their 20s.
Little known fact: One of the first things Francis Perkins did was defund and restructure immigration enforcement to dismantle a goon squad and rebuild a system of humane immigration processing.
really wish politicians, pundits, university leaders, etc. etc. etc. etc. had not hedged their support of protected speech the last several years while students got brutalized, doxxed, and deported!!
