Muscle biopsy

This 76-year-old male presented with complaints of muscle pain. Their past medical history is significant for Sjogren’s syndrome, fibromyalgia, peripheral neuropathy, hypertension and hyperlipidemia.

Bx in older F pt for subnephrotic proteinuria reveals numerous myelin figures in podocytes. Concern for Fabry + other genetic diseases. Subsequently learned the pt was on long term to Plaquenil. Genetics pending, but may all be HCQ tox. #renalpath #pathsky #nephsky

On this day in 1964, Joseph-Armand Bombardier died. Born in Valcourt, Quebec in 1907, he founded Bombardier and invented the snowmobile and Ski-Doo. His invention was originally called a Ski-Dog but a typographical error in a brochure led to the name Ski-Doo.
