The number of people okay with Trump militarizing our cities is deeply disturbing.
@ragncajun77
Born and raised in South Louisiana where the French language filled my Cajun ears. My life has been spent working with individuals who battle mental health struggles and addiction. I am a Ragin’ Cajun and spend way too much time watching pro-wrestling.
The number of people okay with Trump militarizing our cities is deeply disturbing.
But did you even have to tell someone they were on mute?
This is a challenge that we need to address in Louisiana. It’s going to take many of us to stand up and tell our state governor and legislators we demand better. open.substack.com/pub/adrianpe...
We should invest more time ensuring that school curriculums provide more time teaching Civics/US Government/Free-Enterprise/Economics, because the number of people showing they have zero knowledge on these subjects is astounding.
Yeah, we had an announcement about purging the group of non-residents.
HOA drama is the best drama. Our HOA has a Facebook group for the neighborhood. God forbid someone's pet gets loose.
I'd probably just head over to La Rochelle, France. It's one of my ancestral homes.
That reminds me, damn I miss her mustard greens and salt pork.
Yes indeed. Always ready to feed you and what amazed me watching my grandmother cook, is how she could make anything taste amazing.
This is the strategy being employed in front of our eyes, accumulate power and have tyranny prevail.
“The accumulation of all powers, legislative, executive and judicial in the same hands, whether of one, a few, or many, and whether hereditary, self–appointed, or elective, may justly be pronounced the very definition of tyranny” (James Madison, Federalist No. 51, 1788).
Was this covered in a Zoom meeting that I zoned out on?
Is it like a balloon release? Can I find these special balloons at my local retailer?
It has been 16 days since Trump took office, let that sink in for a second as you consider the chaos unfolding in front of our eyes.
I wish we had more Narcan training in Louisiana. In addition, more harm reduction events.
I'd say going from working at home to meetings in the office does feel like a funeral.
If we don't, Taylor Sheridan is going to hear about it.
Couldn't shut my brain off to go to sleep, tried the lowest dose and no issues. Now I can fall asleep. I get the concerns though.
Ambien.
Yyou have restaurant managers that respond with dismissive comments to online reviews. Then when they do decide to close, employees find out with a note on the door.
Unfortunately, I feel like it's a race to the bottom for the service industry. Too many restaurant owners are focused solely on the bottom line and don't care about their staff or customers. I've seen numerous restaurants close around Lafayette and it's always for "economic reasons."
Yes, I have seen Rocky movies. No, I'm not impressed each time you look at me and say, "'Yo Adrian, I Did It"
make a gumbo then...
king cake, boudin...
That's the other thing; more focus on the Sugar Bowl and tourism rather than the people of the city. Many of our state and local leaders were absolutely embarrassing when they spoke during the press conference.
I heard the statement "New Orleans is a resilient city" multiple times yesterday and I'm having a difficult time with the statement. It feels as though it is an effort to once again minimize the hurt and pain associated with a traumatic event.
Because pharmaceutical reps....
It isn't just a Baton Rouge phenomenon. Also, let me introduce you to the Lafayette concept of people stopping in roundabouts when someone has yielded, as required, in the feeder lane.
I mean need vs. want.... It's a Pro Max vote from me.
