say what you want about Disney's live-action remakes, but one thing that made them appealing was how characters were updated from 2D to 3Dβa fairytale come to life. toothless here looks very similar to his animated form, which makes the project feel even more redundant to me idk π€·πΏββοΈ

exactly why I try to keep production into account when critiquing a show. of course, the end product is still the end product at the end of the day but recognizing what caused a show to look a certain way leads to much more productive conversation
Sometimes I see ppl outside the field comparing shows animation and I wish I could go on an hour rant on how the end product is SO DEPENDENT on a pipeline, and sometimes crappy pipelines are forced upon you to by studios, sometimes youβre reinventing one through trial and error..
