To help excuse the wimpiness, they claim that playing a video is more engaging than a live speaker.

Such a good point, but they're undershooting it. People are going to LOVE Zoom-only graduations, can't wait

A LOT of Nepalis have been caught up in this as wellβ€”β€œArap” or any Arab land was a big source of money after the fall of the British empire made movement within the colonies more difficult.

But the stories of the conditions at the facility, revealed in data and recordings from more than a hundred 911 calls obtained by The Associated Press - in addition to follow-up interviews and court filings β€” offer a disturbing portrait of overcrowding, medical neglect, malnutrition and emotional distress.
The detainees describe a camp where an average of about 3,000 people have lived per day in loud and unsanitary quarters, diseases spread easily and sleep is a luxury. The center will be closed to visitors until at least March 19 because of a measles outbreak, according to U.S. Rep. Veronica Escobar.
Detainees struggle to obtain medication and health care, lose concerning amounts of weight because of a lack of food, and live in fear of private security guards known to use force to put down disturbances. The ceilings in the windowless tents leak when it rains, and detainees only see sunlight during brief outings once or twice a week to a cramped recreation yard.
In an email, a Department of Homeland Security spokesperson who did not provide their name rejected claims of subprime conditions, saying Camp East Montana detainees receive food, water and medical treatment in a facility that is regularly cleaned.

Detainee says guards bet on suicide
Like other detainees, Ramsingh said that between cleanings the rooms, restrooms and showers were often filthy and infested with insects. He said detainees stole others' food because everyone was hungry due to the small and sometimes inedible meals, which led to fights, and the conditions took a toll on his mental health.
At one point he said he overheard a security guard talking about bets made among the staff over which detainee would be next to die by suicide. The guard said he had paid $500 into a pool, with the total pot riding on the outcome. The talk was particularly jarring, he said, because he had contemplated suicide himself.

A Cuban immigrant in his 50s told the AP he requested to receive his medication for diabetes, high blood pressure and an enlarged prostate during a six-week detention at Camp East Montana, but it never arrived.
He spoke on the condition of anonymity for fear of reprisals.
Desperate, the man said he once refused to leave living quarters when a cleaning crew came. An immigration official offered him ibuprofen and urged him to consider leaving for another country.
"He says to me, 'Look, there are a lot of detainees, we don't have enough for everyone," he said. "The man from ICE says to me, 'OK, why don't you decide it's better to leave? Leave for Mexico, go to Cuba. There you can have your medicine, have your things."
Fearing death, the man agreed to self-deport to Mexico to Ciudad JuΓ‘rez β€” across the international border from his wife and their 11-year-old son in El Paso.

AP has a new report out about the huge El Paso detention facility and the detailsβ€”from 911 calls, interviews and court recordsβ€”are as horrific as you’d expect apnews.com/article/suic...

The Dipshit Paradox Profoundly ignorant? Deliberately malicious and lying? Does it matter? The demand to engage in good faith with supremacists in a musky age.

These people just lie about what the Democrats have tried to doβ€”and how hard and with what cost they have tried to do itβ€”all the time. Its why I have no patience with these Bernie Bro types because they want to pretend that history started with them.

He went right back to Trump thoughβ€”the through line isn’t β€œcan be convinced by more and more libertarian to leftist policies and politics. Its that he and those who listen to him are morons who make their decisions based on vibes.

Having previously endorsed Ron Paul in 2012 and Bernie Sanders in 2020, Rogan supported Donald Trump in 2024.

In what world could Kamala have gotten his endorsement?

Trump won doing this because his voters love it and the other factions died off. This isn’t going to work in a Democratic primary or a contest between a Democrat and a Republican (where β€œwork” means gets the supposed perfect candidate into the seat).

it was rash and illegal for the Trump admin to pull our pants and undies down in front of everyone, however we cannot ignore reality. THAT'S why we MUST vote to fund, without limit, the continued PUBLIC slapping, grabbing AND teasing of our bare butts, doodlies and cooters. it's NOT cause we like it

Or give journalist @rolandsmartin.bsky.social the views on YouTube. Roland Martin & his team aired the entire memorial service for Reverend Jesse Jackson & conducted interviews w/ attendees at the ceremony’s end. Let’s support media that report the truth, center the global majority & promote peace.

Me too. I absolutely block people for criticizing Kamala or Hillary at this point. It’s immoral to fault women for the failures of the votersβ€”the voter’s determined choice to vote for Trump or to sit out the election until Johnny Unbeatable ran. Fuck them.

Oh, no, I agree with you! The sexism and misogyny, the rape jokes, and other things are awful! That’s just one thing that I remember had an interesting aspect to it. I not only saw it originally as a teen but read the books too. A whole series of vile.

Um, Fort Campbell middle school would like a word. We have many schools on bases, and Bolton knows it. More ghoulish nonsense from war Hawks to justify the murder of little girls.

You don’t know how he and his buddies would have handled a black woman. This is a category error that a lot of white leftists make: assuming the world women and POC face is identical to the one they would face. The attacks on HRC, Kamala and AOC are raced and sexed. Misogynistic and violent.

Butterflies are significant across Chinese communities, traditionally symbolising love, longevity, creation & freedom. The Clothworkers had a joyful time photographing these beautiful butterflies on Bai and Han textiles. Feeling inspired? Book now for our Bai Embroidery workshop!

Sanders going on Rogan wasn’t a negativeβ€”it just isn’t the positive that Sanders thought it was and in any event Sanders success (such as it is) has more to do with the audience being willing to accept curmudgeonly old white guys than it does with their entertaining liberal ideas from a black woman.

I know his style wellβ€”he plays a slightly stoned, not very intelligent guy, who agrees with the last person he speaks to but then happilly contradicts himself with the next speaker. His audience demo is young men with a lot of time on their hands.
