Nice to share a toast with my mentor, Prof. Mike Benton, and former Benton lab mates. Great to see Mike receive the Romer-Simpson Medal to honour his lifetime of work in the field of vertebrate palaeontology.
Nice to also catch up & have fun with friends at the awards dinner and party to wrap off a very successful conference!

The last leaves of autumn glow even brighter to a hungry pair of Therizinosaurus, bulking up for a long winter. These strange dinosaurs are some of my favorites, and though they're slow movers, they made it just in time to be included in my new calendar!

#2025SVP might be over for most delegates, but Ben Igielman led a large group today to Triassic fossil localities in South Wales and Gloucestershire.
Meanwhile, @tweetisaurus.bsky.social and myself have taken another group of delegates for the first day of a three-day dinosaurs and history focused trip, starting with the Natural History Museum & Charles Darwin’s home, Down House #2025SVP

I had a wonderful time at #2025SVP in Birmingham, UK! Gave a talk about suction feeding in fossil odontocetes (“toothed whales”). I thoroughly enjoyed the numerous insightful, engaging conversations I had with colleagues throughout the meeting. Looking forward to Cleveland next year!
