Congratulations Rhys, well deserved
Congratulations Rhys, well deserved
This is probably the most complex build I've ever done. RFM is not to be trifled with, #histscalemodels. I haven't added a few of the more fiddly parts and the snow chain wheels due to their delicateness, but the Struker MGS is about ready for prime time.
Wow, thatβs some fabulous work Matthew. Canβt wait to see it painted up.
Great looking builds Stef, Iβm particularly excited by the Mk IV
Looking good Paul π
For windscreens, I mask the wiper pattern and spray a very light dusting of Tamiya buff, highly thinned with MLT (basically dirty thinners, with about 5% paint), building it up slowly until happy. I have tried speckling gouache and that worked well as you can just wipe away what you donβt want.
Weβre trying to resist the urge to binge it, itβs just a delight
Thank you for the compliment Tim π
Thanks Spencer
Cheers Ghost π
Thanks Adam π
Thanks Fokkerdude
Cheers Matthew, thanks for the compliment π
Thank you Stef π
It felt like a bit of a slog in the end, glad I can see the finish line (until I start the base)
Cheers pal π
Thanks Twai π
Right, I think Iβve done as much weathering on the Churchill as Iβm comfortable with (for now, and at least until I make a base do it). Stowage next.

Lovely work, this looks like a cracking build π
Thatβs a thing of beauty Rich π
Looking forward to seeing how this one progresses Stef.
Thanks Matthew. I know what you mean - itβs a delicate balance isnβt it. I purposely didnβt pay too much attention to the running gear as I knew it was going to get some mud.
Cheers Rich π
Youβre not wrong. Iβm ok with CA during the build as I can largely clean up any mess, but itβs a royal pain if Iβm trying to attach parts after painting. I suddenly get all cack-handed, and it refuses to hold π
Thanks as always mate π
Thanks Tim. I tried Mig Ultra to hold the spare track links but it wasnβt too successful (I was perhaps a bit impatient). I have every flavour of VMS glue, which I generally swear by, but they let me down on this occasion. I might have to give some UV setting glue a try, Iβve heard it works well.
Cheers Stef, youβre very kind
Progress on the Churchill, weathering next to tie it all together. Iβve never had so many issues with superglue not holding though, I had tools and spare track links just pop off multiple times, regardless of which glue I used. Absolutely infuriating π€¬

Very nice π
Thanks Ianβ¦ donβt remind me about the wheels, Iβve not even started them yet. Churchill wheels might be numerous, but at least theyβre small. And you canβt really see the rear sprocket.
Thank you Tim
Thanks Dave π
