Alysa Liu wins the Olympic gold medal for the United States YouTube video by Olympics

I urge you to stop what you're doing and watch Alysa Liu's free skate from yesterday. I have never seen anything like this. I understand why sports writers are born now. I have never seen anyone as free from the burdens of this world as this pierced Oakland girl spinning to Donna Summers.

Three small drawings: One of a shrine under a pine tree with a stone inside, one of a salamander on the forest floor, one of a coastal path with stone steps, two tall trees, stone columns and two hikers in the distance. The overall feel is very late summer to early autumn.

Gislebertus
Dream of the Magi
1120-30
Stone
Cathedral of Saint-Lazare, Autun

"Master Gislebertus was one of the greatest sculptors of the Middle Ages, who inscribed his name on the tympanum of the main portal of the Sainte-Lazare Cathedral at Autun. The majority of the capitals in the interior of the cathedral are also ascribed to him; most of them are on pilasters and therefore remain firmly connected to the surface. His sculptures are some of the most human, touching works that exist in Romanesque sculpture. The original capitals were removed and are on display in the MusΓ©e Rolin near to the Cathedral.

The Dream of the Magi, the capital originally on the east side of the north-east crossing pillar, shows the three crowned figures together under a large, round cover. Two of them are still asleep, but the third has already been woken by the movingly gentle touch of the angel who is pointing the star out to him." (WGA)

Picked up KCD2 on sale right before the New Year and it's the first RPG I've been able to really get into in a longgg time. Noah and I are calling it "Henry Simulator." We love him! That's our guy!

I loved expedition 33 as much as the next guy, but I personally think it's far preferable to come down pretty militantly on AI use than to risk being overly permissive. The slope is too slippery and the stakes are too high.

It’s Obra Dinn. Obra Dinn gives you a structure to work in that makes you feel like you’re smart even if you’re not *that* smart. It’s baffling that more AA/AAA games have not folded it into their games RPing β€˜smart’ characters. (Even tho I’ve been pitching them for years.)

A lesson I'm continually having to learn about my own process is that if drawing comics feels like there's a brick wall in my brain, that's often less an indicator that I need to push through and more that I need to rework the page to be something I'm actually excited about.

my webcomic The Nameless Prisoner is coming soon...! fantasy adventure (gay) romance..
It's about a cursed knight who's deserted his order, and now he's been blackmailed into delivering the head of a recently executed prisoner to the queen... but when he shows up the guy is unfortunately very alive

A thin vertical gothic frame within which a woman in a blue medieval gown & hennin is seen reading at a wooden desk. A sun smiles through the arched window and the floor is a black and green chequered pattern. She rests her fingers on her temples. She has green sleeves beneath the gown which is fur trimmed. The wall is pink. The book shows the words 'MEMENTO VIVERE'

This is more in-line with what these "rural" cemeteries were designed for anyways. They were effectively public parks where people would picnic and stroll. Now, most cemeteries are both too precious for public use and utterly neglected by their municipalities. Make them public spaces again!

How important is lighting to photographing a gravestone?

Here is the same stone at 11:55 am and 12:28 pm on the same day. Raking sunlight picks out every detail in the carving (and even the texture of the stone).
