I grew up in MN (and a bit of MI). The northern states invest $ into winter snow removal infrastructure because they have to.

In hockey skates. No, this is not a frozen pond or lake & no, this was not a planned ice rink. This is 5–7 inches of snow + hours of sleet & freezing rain + no day above freezing since.
