Final Fantasy XV came out during my junior year of high school, and Final Fantasy XVI came out after I graduated college and was a year into my career.
While XIV and the VII remake series are chugging along, it's pretty crazy to think I might be 30 before a theoretical XVII.
The extended time 2XKO had in the oven really deflated the excitement and interest around it. The initial re-reveal was in 2021, right during peak Arcane excitement, and it had a lot going for it at that time. But between the staggered PC and Console release, it lost a lot of momentum sadly.
