its a flat block of color with transparency turned down. then i mask the parts i want to see thru. then a lil paint over to add some brighter parts and some texture brushes. i think w this way you have a higher degree of control.

left with the mask off and right with it on

sometimes I dont like my art because it looks like I made it but when I look back at my old work and think its looks better, its because I've changed and the person that made that is no longer the same me
