Book Block: If Youβre Seeing This, Itβs Meant For You, Leigh Stein - A Traditional Gothic Horror set in a hype house. Bonus points because the house is a fictional version of one of my favorite houses, The Ennis House in Los Angeles #booktok #crochet πππ©Έπ§Ά
Book Block: Half His Age, Jennette McCurdy - McCurdyβs first novel is propelled by her anger and reads like Lolita by way of American Psycho #booksky πππ§Ά
Book Block: We Donβt Swim Here, Vincent Tirado: A dark little YA ghost story fueled by generational trauma, racism and urban legend #booksky #crochet πππ©Έπ§Ά
Book Block 1/100: The Stalker, Paula Bomer - I think i am very tired of reading about the inner workings of terrible men #booksky πππ©Έ #crochet π§Ά
I will admit, it took me a while to realize it, but it was unsettling from the start. It really is a shame because Tirado is exactly the type of author I want to support and see more from, but I just cannot get onboard with this.
Read 100!! Y/N, Esther Yi: A lonely little fever dream about fan culture and K-pop #booksky ππ
Read 99/100: The Black Guy Dies First, Robin R. Means Coleman - A good overview of the contributions of Black folks to Horror film, I added a ton of movies to my To Watch list. It may be a little list heavy for an audiobook though. #booksky πππ©Έ

97/100 - Crafting for Sinners, Jenny Kiefer - Took me a bit to get on board, but this reads like its Temple of Doom but if Temple of Doom was set in Hobby Lobby and that is fun. #booksky πππ©Έ
96/100 - Goddess of Filth, V. Castro - A coming of age story that just so happens to involve an old sin eating Goddess of retribution #booksky πππ©Έ

Read 93/50 - The New Couple in 5B, Lisa Unger - A retelling of Rosemary's Baby, light on the devil stuff - but there's a happy ending? I don't know how I feel about it - i did like that the Guy Woodhouse character winds up dead in the end #booksky πππ©Έ
Also - I complain about this a lot, but this book was written by someone who has never lived in New Orleans, and I don't know, its a story very grounded in a particular place and time - and I dont think the author had enough info to really flesh that out.
Read 92/50 - This Cursed House, Del Sandeen - A debut southern gothic about intergenerational trauma & curses, set on the estate of a PassΓ© Blanc family in New Orleans. I didnt care for the message that forgiveness solves everything including centuries of white supremacy. #booksky πππ©Έ
September reads: honestly not the greatest month, had a couple of real clunkers in there πππ©Έ#booksky
Read 91/50 - Play Nice, Rachel Harrison - A haunted house story about grief and how a family's members can all experience that grief and loss differently. #booksky πππ©Έ
TWENTY FOUR DAYS UNTIL HE COMES HOME #futurecat #devonrex
Read 90/50 - Feeders, Matt Serafini - This book may win my worst book of the year award. I only finished it out of spite really. Theme: Social Media Bad, the writing was sloppy and juvenile and all over the place. #booksky πππ©Έ
Crochet finish! Riverdale cushions! My basset loves them #crochet π§Ά

Read 83/50 - Death in the Downline, Maria Abrams - A novel about the desperation and poison of MLMs n a cozy mystery format. It was a fun, easy read. Ends with a parody of the Bon Jovi classic, Living on a Prayer! #booksky ππ
