Birdsong or Nightjar by Katya Balen. Both are published by Barringtonstoke as dyslexia books. Sorry I don’t have a board game to suggest. #BookksAndBoardgames

There's a kind of magic that happens when adults READ ALOUD to kids. It's the kind of magic that can change their lives forever, and will never be forgotten. Just 10 minutes a day can be enough to make them lifelong readers! #literacy #kidlit #books

Report finds β€˜shocking and dispiriting’ fall in children reading for pleasure National Literacy Trust finds only 35% of eight to 18-year-olds enjoy reading in their spare time, a sharp drop on last year to the lowest figure yet recorded

As @frankcottrell_b says, the solution’s in our hands. Stop closing libraries. Retain school librarians and employ many more. Fund author visits to schools. Publishers, stop throwing cash at celebrities and focus instead on engaging young readers. We can fix this. www.theguardian.com/books/2024/n...

Amazing production of Macbeth, the headsets/binaural sound gave a very haunting feel.

🀣 I always reply that I’m a school librarian and that I read middle grade and YA mostly. Holidays are for adult books

Just finished a gripping adventure written by Lindsay Galvin. Set on the streets of London during the Great fire of London. I couldn’t put it down, this is suitable for age 9+ I loved it.
