My @durham-comp-sci.bsky.social PhD student Pawel Radtke just won the best poster award at #SIAMPP26 on our compiler work.
It kind of strikes me that SIAM CSE has always multiple sessions on training and teaching. #SIAMPP26 has none. Thats a missing piece in the puzzle and where @shareing.bsky.social has to step in. Computational Sciences training is important. So is HPC from a methodological/algorithmic point of view.
Great poster session at #SIAMPP26. @shareing.bsky.social was there and our eCSE project (a collab between @durham-comp-sci.bsky.social and @epcc.bsky.social ) as well as two further posters around Peano and the continuation of our PAX-HPC ExCALIBUR work.
Great talk by @durham-comp-sci.bsky.social PhD student Pawel Radtke on his PhD research in the big AudiMax in Berlin at #SIAMPP26
Meeting with other TOMS (associate) editors at #SIAMPP26. It is always good to meet the people behind a journal portal.

My #SIAMPP26 quote of the day: "It's the wrong name, but it's my code so I can call it whatever I want".
The official leaflet for #PPAM26 is out: ppam.edu.pl/docs/PPAM202... Great to see two @cake-dri.bsky.social CoLs on the list of invited speakers.
2hrs in at #SIAMPP26 and a first talk using ExaHyPE. The observations re precision are interesting. Punchline: low precision pollutes a lot of the outcomes and one has to be very very careful using it.
Finally the conference kicked off and the proceedings (including our paper) are online: epubs.siam.org/doi/10.1137/...
To mark 20 years of #SeisSol and 10 years of #ExaHyPE, Michael Bader, @tobiasweinzierl.bsky.social, and I organize a Workshop, Training & Hackathon at LRZ (near Munich), June 11β12, 2026. Contributed talks (Jun 11) and training + hackathon tracks (Jun 12)

Happy to be in Berlin for #SIAMPP26

π SHAREing Workshop at Swansea University (Hybrid!)
50+ HPC researchers & engineers explored Performance & Utilisation Monitoring for Accelerated Compute on 25 Feb 2026. Talks included CEEMS, ClusterCockpit, Linaro Forge, NVIDIA Run:ai, AMD OmniStat.

A close up of an Earth-like planet with the blackness of space behind. Text on the image reads "Our scientists are involved in the search for habitable worlds."
Did you know that @durhamphysics.bsky.social researchers are involved in the search for life on distant planets? They're investigating how a UK-led team could design and build a core instrument for the new NASA Habitable Worlds mission due to launch in the 2040s π tinyurl.com/3fmwfyur
We've just added a quote from our friends at AMD β see what great things they've said about working with our talented students on their dissertation projects!

Great talk on simulations in biophysics by @durham-comp-sci.bsky.social 's Gokberk Kabacaoglu. Lots of sweat and blood - but all ML- and PDE-driven.
2022 I started to write down ideas I had started to work on with my students. Today, it got accepted in ACM TOMS. What a great way to kick off a week, and what a nice evidence that papers are hard work but worth pursuing; over years and years. arxiv.org/abs/2406.06095
Great talk by Thomas Flynn in our @durham-comp-sci.bsky.social SciComp seminar on his work within the @shareing.bsky.social grant.
During the recent SHAREing retreat we had the opportunity to reflect on some of the outreach activities weβve taken part in over the past year as part of SHAREing.
Hereβs a short video recap:
