#lthechat sorry I can’t join in tonight. I’m transforming myself into a Gruffalo for world book day tomorrow. I’m making purple spines to go down back of my fur coat from rubber gloves, I will have a poisonous nose wart made of the Elastoplast coloured with a green highlighter&breadsticks teeth

Marvelous, thank you Rachel. Phil used to sell it as a loose leaf file of photocopiable resources as well as a book so that people could use pages in classroom activities. Does that sound old-fashioned now? Our latest edition is Race, P. And Brown, S. 2025The Lecturer's Toolkit Routledge.

A4. Absolute unquestionably it’s gendered. I read an article years ago, which talked about how in HEThe β€œmummies” look after the students& the β€œdaddies” look after the research. Of course some β€œdaddies” are female & some β€œmummies” are male, but there were some observable patterns. has much changed?

Well, I’ve just come across a poem. I wrote in 1995. It’s quite good really. I wonder what happened to all the other poems I wrote about that time? I can’t imagine where I will have filed them.

She took part in the opening parade doing gymnastics and Indian clubs. She was very unusual for her time. Trained as a physiotherapist and masseur in Sweden then came to England where she met my grandfather at an international summer school. Sadly she didn’t like children much!

That’s why I only ever cut chilies with a pair of scissors over kitchen paper so I don’t have to touch them. Kitchen scissors then go into the dishwasher and paper towel goes in the bin once Ive put the chilies in the stew.

Just a surface wound as Monty Python’s knights would say

What’s the most middle class accident you can have around the home? I have cut my nose while cleaning the bread maker and the lid fell on it. Can you beat that?

Feel free to use it, although it might upset some people’s sensibilities

The thing is, I don’t want the heavy commitment of something like a book, but writing the odd overview article, etc. turns out to be quite good fun

#LTHEChat but it’s difficult to take risks in the current environment of precarity and uncertainty
