As a proudly left-leaning individual living in a “red state”, I feel your frustration. It’s hard. But, understand. There are many, many good people in these places. Who you have much in common with. They continue to fight for what’s right despite their exhaustion. Texas is no different.

Unfortunately, based on some of the comments in this thread, many of the people on “our side” don’t either.

Helping those in need isn’t “centrist bs”. It’s basic human decency. Resist the urge to assume that everyone affected by this was a Trump voter. And even if they were, an opportunity to be better!

You do realize that not every person that lives in a “red state” is MAGA. Or Republican. Or part of any other group you’ve deemed worthy of suffering or death. If broad brush generalizations are what you’re into, you might actually have more in common with “them” than you think.

Seems to be a prerequisite to be in this administration.
