Once again begging people to stop using the term CSAM to refer to content that does not include images of real children or their likenesses.

The whole reason we have that term is to identify content that features actual children so the appropriate steps can be taken.

No matter how gross the art is, it’s not CSAM. I know it’s vile. I know your want everyone to know how gross the person who made it is.

But when you intentionally mix up these terms you harm actual children by diverting attention and resources away from material that exploits them.

When I was a content moderator for a large social website there was often actual images of children being sexually abused that needed to be reported to the authorities.

Our queue for those reports included THOUSANDS of “loli/shota” art that delayed us getting to the real harm for days at a time.

I ask cause I see a lot of claims flying around about this that end up seeming like a game of telephone. But again, doesn’t have to be answered if it’s too personal of a question.

As I get older I'm coming to increasingly radical views like "you have to do things to get good at them" and "you have to think about problems to solve them"

I think the biggest damage to the art community was the obsolescence of gallery sites (y!, deviantart, etc) and the rise of scroll-by social media, like twitter and even tumblr. Art is not ''content'', you shouldnt need to post art every day (or every month!) to be relevant. This mindset sucks.
