Alex, how do you see this playing out? Is Durbin the likely 3rd baseman, or is that Mayerβs slot? Is a Durbin (3B), Mayer (SS), Story (2B) a possible configuration?

BlueSky friends, earlier today, I posted a new essay with a Thanksgiving theme on my blog. The essay title is: "Icons" of Hope and Encouragement. And, here is the link:

NEW: Epstein survivors release the most powerful PSA I have ever seen.
Make this go viral so every member of the House of Representatives sees it.
I hope this doesn't spoil the surprise for anyone, but life can be tough.
On Palm Sunday, 11 years ago, my grandson reminded me to listen more attentively.

And yet Merton tells us that βeverything that is, is holy.β I suspect heβs right.
Pope Francis: βIt needs to be said clearly: There are those who systematically work by all means to drive away migrants, and this, when done knowingly and deliberately, is a grave sin.β
Clear words about the care of migrants and refugees from Pope Pius XII, in his apostolic constitution "Exsula Familia Nazarethana," on the Spiritual Care of Migrants (1952):

God, thank you for the beginning of this New Year and the hope that it brings. I don't know if I will share in all 365 of its sunrises and sunsets; but, on every day of 2025 that finds me breathing, please let the remembrance of you be the deepest habit of my heart.
Safe travels, Jim! And, happy New Year!
Me as well! The efficacy of the Carter Presidency may be a matter for debate, but a better man has never occupied the Oval Office.
Simply wonderful! Such a good man!
And to you, Father!
Merry Christmas, friends! May the awesome humility of God, so perfectly demonstrated in the manger in Bethlehem, move in all of our hearts during this holy season and forever.
This is the story of a little boy (me, age 6) who learns the truth about Santa. I hope it will bless you. Merry Christmas!

This short essay tells the story of Christmas in my childhood home back in 1963, when I was 6 years-old. That was when I learned the truth about Santa Claus. I hope it blesses you. Merry Christmas!

Thatβs a beautiful way to prepare for Mass, Katie! So many blessings have made each moment possible.
Likewise, Fr. Jim! Blessings always!
From boyhood, I have felt God tugging on my heart. This persists even when I choose distance from God, even at times of deepest grief and confusion. Study helps me understand this tugging, but it is not a thing I have learned or achieved. It is a gift, and I pray that it will never leave me.
I never liked the circus.
I was writing a note of congratulations to two friends who became first-time grandparents. Alluding to the rapid passage of time, I wrote: "Drink in every moment." The automated editor suggested that I change it to: "Drink at every moment."
Hmmm. That advice may be more helpful for new parents.
Happy Thanksgiving, Father! Blessings always!
New BlueSky friends, I have an annual tradition of posting a Thanksgiving essay to my blog as an expression of gratitude for the many blessings in my life. This yearβs entry is titled βHoly Ground.β I hope youβll check it out. Happy Thanksgiving!

Iβm curious. When someone follows you from an account lacking any profile info and with no posts, do you follow back?
Iβve been gone from Twitter for several months and donβt regret my decision. I tried Threads and still have that account, but BlueSky is a far better experience, in my opinion. BTW, it was your post about moving to BlueSky that brought me here. Thanks Fran!
