Posting with no discernable pattern about Pittsburgh, MLB, PWHL, and music from metal to barbershop I work in genomics and might even post about that too This profile used to be my real name but no longer

very chaotic scientific diagram with too many things overla
Very cool. Although the figure immediately brought to mind this beauty:
Blueberries have been shown to have some mood improving effects as well, in case you're into smoothies!
Pirates great Andrew McCutchen to sign a minor league deal with Rangers, per report
A gray shorthair cat at the moment of release upside down, with its tongue out looking derpy
A new paper on falling cat science came out and I just have to draw people's attention to this image
I didn't expect to see Falmouth here, that's great!
My phone's fitness app congratulated me for working out for 24 minutes this morning, and informed me that the 10% of users work out for 90 minutes on Tuesday mornings.
Being compared to the 90th percentile is the exact opposite information I need, actually.
Hey did ya'll know getting enough sleep has a meaningful impact on daily well-being? Wild stuff.

I joined a local chorus by Googling "[city name] chorus" and it's honestly been my rock. It can feel silly to go to rehearsal every week and do coaching sessions given the state of the world, but it's made me realize that making art is *the point*.
I enjoy the feed Paper Skygest: bsky.app/profile/did:...
I'm not 100% sure how it works, but I believe it filters your Following into posts likely including a link to a paper or manuscript.
I attended a meeting virtually a few months ago and it sounds like it was the same video. Good stuff

I'd never heard of Alysa Liu before yesterday, but it's really nice to hear her story. Her non-traditional approach to being the best in the world at what she does is a great counter to grinding/the-hard-way-is-the-right-way mindset.
I've seen a few accounts, mostly those who do self-promotion, repost their own stuff a few times in a row. I actually don't mind it since I don't follow that many people yet. Could be a way to up post numbers in a lower number way
If you search Megan Keller on Google you can throw her a bouquet. That's cute
the only place this should happen is academic conferences
The other day I was loading in a Parquet file that was ~3GB and it took *forever*. Tbf I don't really use the arrow package much but it was much slower than I expected.
I barely use R anymore because loading in a huge file before you can touch it is so annoying!
Woah. I try to go to a local place but $40 for 80 cans is unbelievable. Maybe I'll do a little bit of both
I love getting to leave my learning unsupervised
More prompts! More prompts when I visit a website! I don't want to be able to read an article unless I close out of at least TEN windows asking for surveys, location, password storage, notifications, cookies, blood type, etc.
Screenshot of sentence from article: Race organizers did not make Nazgul available for questions after his capture.
This is the kind of journalist effort I appreciate
Well on our way to having a Pickle week!

I love glitch metal. It sounds like it's too brutal for modern technology to capture
My dnd campaign will never be the same after reading this list
I'm normally a country music hater* but it's just nice to hear songs on the radio with guitar solos
Something that has confused me about this situation is whether the city has leverage; to say something like "please do/donate X or we will have to do Y." It sounds like Gainey's going to court was close to this, but otherwise other non-profits can indefinitely decline.
Literally never noticed that lol. Might just be used to seeing the second angle of the gif
