Did some more work on this oil painting on wood board yesterday. It’s a self-portrait of sorts: three Medusas, cloaked. The hoods aren’t about hiding, but protection. About reclaiming my bodily autonomy, gaze, and energy.

That ‘can we go back to regular police brutality’ comment has me reeling. Because once you hear it, you realize that even when it’s not phrased that bluntly, that’s the underlying demand a lot of white people are making. I'm not going to pretend that is okay.

Genuine question: what are real tips for ICE encounters for someone like me? Child of a Nigerian immigrant, queer, visibly Muslim, with a “foreign” name. I don’t trust them to respect my rights or believe my papers. If they stop me, what do I do? Is getting a passport worth it?

This weather combined with public transit is so absurd. It shouldn't be such a high stakes vibe to go to the grocery store

I am at high risk of slipping on ice. So, I want to take up baseball, to balance out. But, I can't afford a bat. A LOT of folkswho slip on ICE are like me, so a baseball bat would be super helpful rn
