Here's a complementary colour experiment in orange and blue 🧡💙 after Vermeer. Of course, there is no way to get a full spectrum with such limitations. Nevertheless, I find it fascinating to attempt to recreate the relationship of colours and values in this way. Happy Monday!

Here’s another pear painting. Getting back into colour experiments by using a colour triad I’m less familiar with, WN Indian yellow, Rembrandt Madder brown and OH Delft blue and white. It creates a warm harmony to which I added a little cadmium lemon at the end to aid the chroma on the ribbon.
