SEASON TWO: IRIS AND THE CREW RIDE THE RIFT! by Cait Gordon
Now that Hot Wings and Sauciness is veering towards the editing phase, what will I work on next? Oh, nothing much. Just another little space story.

An announcement card for Augur's first novella acquisition, CREST. A mountain peak is featured in the background, with a pink gradient below. Text reads: ANNOUNCING AUGUR SOCIETY'S FIRST NOVELLA CREST by A.D. Sui After more than a decade no-contact, two former friends keep their promise from undergrad and meet up to hike the Pacific Crest Trail together. But urban legends haunt the trails; secrets hang between them; and an eerie otherside pulls at them both, threatening to keep them from ever going home. CREST weaves a story about complex friendships, love, and regret, told as an atmospheric contemporary fantasy travelogue by the Nebula-winning author of The Dragonfly Gambit (Neon Hemlock). Yes! I was in a Twitter conversation years ago, and I told people not to dare me to write a romance novel. Because it’ll be awkward and weird and called something like Hot Wings and Sauciness. Dear reader, they dared me. And I couldn’t resist. #SpoonieAuthChat

A delightfully creep micro-fiction from Robert Runte is up on Sudden Fiction. Free to read!
I've bought a lot of pre-made covers from Skyla (and have commissioned others) & she's wonderful to work with. Check them out ⬇️
If you're seeing this note about Celu Amberstone's story collection Refugees And Other Stories because it got reposted by @sfcanadawriters.bsky.social, remember to look for her science fiction & fantasy novels at books2read.com/amberstone!
If you're seeing this note because it was reposted by @sfcanadawriters.bsky.social, take a look at my timeslip novel Plum Tree. It pairs well with Island Views: short, scenic, & the setting dominates the storytelling.

Robert Runte's micro-fiction "The Family Home" was reprinted in Scribes Micro #52, December 2025, having received an Honourable Mention for the Scribes Prize! Robert was also interviewed by Scribes. A delightful chat about his micro-fiction, & it can be found:
I feel like that bumper sticker is excellent marketing for our anthology Saltwater Sorrows, edited by @rhondaparrish.bsky.social

Of possible interest to anyone thinking about trying to write flash fiction. Karen Schauber was the person who got me into, and published my first, flash fiction.
This is a fantastic adventure series for those wanting a modern day paranormal treasure hunter.
A promo graphic that says "Adventure starts here!" and there's a woman silhouetted by a sunset climbing up a cliff. The book cover for Solomon's Seal is there in eBook and audiobook, an adventure novel with a woman's silhouette in the mouth of a cave. The rest of the text says "audiobook $12.99/€9.99 January 1 - 31. $1.99 in eBook January 8 - 21" and there are several other book covers to indicate this is an adventure series.
Ex-debutante. Single Mother. Treasure Hunter. Escape the news in this world by going on adventures with Livi Talbot.
Solomon's Seal in audiobook is $12.99/€9.99 all month long for Kobo's Start a New Series sale: www.kobo.com/ca/en/audiob...
Just $1.99 in eBook: www.kobo.com/ca/en/ebook/...
Currently in the middle of book 2 of this, and I already cannot recommend it enough.
When I read I tend to hear each character’s voice in my head. And Mrs. Egerton’s voice (to me) is absolutely Susan Rigvava-Dumas in her role as Danvers in the Rebecca musical.
Refugees And Other Stories by Celu Amberstone "Amberstone's seductive and enthralling stories employ fantastic elements to balance the joy of kinship with the devastating effects of colonialism. A must-read collection!" -Dr Joy Sanchez-Taylor, professor & author of Diverse Futures books2read.com/refugees
A week after Smashwords' sale, Celu's Refugees And Other Stories is still trending in Indigenous Fiction!
Find it there or on Kobo, Apple, Amazon & a dozen other online vendors at books2read.com/refugees
