She settles down and marries the love of her life, and goes on to become one of the preeminent experts on Fifth & Sixth Era history and living to an almost unnaturally old age.

Highlanders, elezen, & viera are all peak to me. It's genuinely hard for me to pick a clear favorite.

Anye absolutely LOVES being the little spoon. So many people assume that she's a "big spoon" gal based on her big personality and tall stature, but really all she wants is to just be held and to happily doze off in someone's arms.

Coffee & some for-fun-not-research reading in her garden, a stroll through the local markets, daytime catnaps surrounded by the neighborhood stray cats who've come to visit, an everything shower, all capped off by an evening trip to a tavern or bathhouse with friends.

I'd say a solid 5. Anye's entire backstory fits into a tiny section of world map that's not accessible in-game and very unlikely to be visited in the future, and as a historian it's kind of Anye's job to delve into the unknown and fill in knowledge gaps. Hard canon always takes priority, though.

Anye has an alternative "WoL" version for doing the MSQ. There's very little of her backstory that changes (still a Gyr Abanian refugee who fled to Limsa, lost her family during the Calamity, etc.), the only difference is she's graced with the Blessing of Light and compelled to travel to Gridania.

Started highlander, still highlander, but now with bonus aftermarket elf ears. Very brief elezen stints mixed in, but Anye just looks odd to me as anything but a highlander.

Anye is highly invested in preserving the history of Velodyna. Not only does she want to save it from falling into complete obscurity (it having been assimilated by Ala Mhigo decades prior), but keeping Velodyne customs alive is her way of honoring her mother, who herself was very traditional.

Not gonna lie, the increase in blood elf representation and Xal'atath...just being hot in general, does make me a LITTLE tempted to return to WoW for Midnight.

Buuut then I remember how shitty most WoW players behave when compared to the XIV community. Kinda breaks the temptation real quick.

Echoing this sentiment. I'm still fairly new to the gpose community, and my RP network is currently fairly small, so I don't always know who's being problematic.

Ul'dah! Anye has a deep, deep hatred for the Monetarists, seeing them as parasites that exploit the common folk. She also detests the Royals, seeing them as either too weak to stand up to the Monetarists, or complicit in their schemes.

Ul'dah's abuse of the Ala Mhigan refugees was her last straw.

Anye has a deep love for Limsa Lominsa, as that was where her family fled in order to escape the Garlean invasion of Gyr Abania.

She also feels drawn to Ishgard, as that's where her father was from, and where she still has living relatives (though they're mostly quite cold to her at the moment).

Worst part of visiting Old Sharlayan is trying to not pay attention to the background music because if I do I'll pick up on the "Flow" leitmotif and start getting choked up. 😭

Anye currently makes a decent living as an adjunct professor of history, working on a contractual basis with various universities across the Star.

In her previous line of work as a smuggler, she made tons of gil but kept very little for herself and donated nearly all of it to charitable causes.

Anye is keen to explore what remains of her homeland, the former nation of Velodyna, sandwiched between Gridania & Gyr Abania just to the south of the in-game map for The Fringes.

Her player is increasingly wanting to go to Blindfrost and northern Othard for more xaela lore.

Anye spent most of her adult life keeping her hair cut short. She's only recently grown it out and she's loving it. Anyone trying to get her to shave now is likely to get hit. 😂
