Although Republicans have embraced Tesla in recent years, it hasn't always been that way.
Arizona's Democratic Sen. Mark Kelly drove a Tesla — until Elon Musk became the face of DOGE.
Then Kelly dumped it for a Chevy Tahoe.
Guto Braga, a Florida graphic designer who worked on the Charlie Kirk tribute truck, said the Cybertruck's polarizing nature is part of its appeal for business advertisers and anyone trying to spark conversation.
“Some people love, some people hate, but everybody looks at it.”
President Donald Trump got in on the trend, too.
Streamer Adin Ross presented him with a custom Cybertruck in August 2024. It was wrapped with the iconic photo of a bloody Trump raising his fist after surviving an assassination attempt.
Jay Feely brings his self-driving Cybertruck everywhere for his #AZ01 campaign. An AZ legislator was pulled over for speeding in his Cybertruck last year. And a conservative activist had his model specially designed to pay homage to Charlie Kirk and brought it to AmericaFest.
