Through a Red Place - Perugia Press
Through a Red Place is an inventive collage of geography, history, myth, translation, lineage, erasure, journalism, and photography.
Written in English and Mohegan, Rebecca Pelky’s story-in-poems “assembles the author’s research into her Native and non-Native heritage in the land now known as Wisconsin.”

Old Erie Canal Log, Day 2
Most of the critters are too quick for me to photograph. It’s honestly amazing how quickly chubby raccoons, in their their natural environments, can disappear as if invisible. So instead here’s a big fish!

Old Erie Canal Log, Day 1 (as far as Bluesky is concerned, at least). I walk here a lot in summer. It helps me stay sane. Today, being a good citizen of nature meant giving my neighbors a little extra space by choosing not to pass them.

Reading the comments it’s funny/not funny how pissed everyone is but also don’t seem to notice the irony/hypocrisy of having the words “End Racism” overshadowed by the giant racist team name whose fans are best known for doing “the tomahawk chop.” Maybe it’s like, “End Racism (here’s an example!)”

Does anyone else see the irony (or maybe it’s hypocrisy?) of “End Racism” above “Chiefs” in giant letters? Granted it’s not as bad as the former Washington team name, but still.
