Is “financially secure“ anything like living pay check to pay check?

In small town Ontario, I pay $1125 for a 2 bedroom apartment, plus utilities. And it’s only because I have a great landlord. Most are still around $2000. My rent is over 60% of my pension so I am biting the bullet and applying for subsidized housing. Last resort.

Priorities.

If I was living in the US right now, I’d be poring over that family history with a finetooth comb…

I’m not sure if anything is likely to change until the majority stops sleepwalking through life. People will bitch and whine about the cost of eggs, gas, living in general, but most won’t do anything about it until their way of life becomes traumatic.

I handed off a wall clock to my daughter because I really hated climbing up on a footstool to change the time twice a year. No judging. Otherwise I think I’m a good mother…😉

I have fibromyalgia and slept on the couch for about 4 years. When I moved, I invested in a good quality mattress topper and a quilted mattress protector. 5+ years and I sleep like a baby. Especially if you have a firm mattress, it’s a game changer.

I’m knitting a Temperature Blanket and each colour represents a different range of temperature. E.g…Black is bone-chilling cold , grey is not as cold, and so on up to red, when the temperature hits “you shouldn’t even be alive “ hot.

Disconnect for long periods of time. Allow yourself to continue doing things that make you happy, things that are part of your daily routine. It’s too easy to be consumed by chaos and horror, but it’s important for your wellbeing to compartmentalize the bad news… and be happy in spite of.
