If we have to have #DaylightSavingTime, I’m #grateful for modern technology, which updates most of our watches & devices automatically. I’m old enough to remember being late because everything had to be updated manually. Guess I have #gratitude, too, for being an old fart who recalls this stuff.

14 no years ago today, I was #grateful to be in #Milan, but especially to be eating fresh #artichokes, one of my favorite #foods. My #Sicilian mom used to stuff the leaves with bread crumbs, garlic, and Romano cheese and then steam them. BBC

Where does the time go? Here I am, in Evanston, IL, a young dad with son, Nicholas. In about three weeks, he’ll be 42. Here’s a recent pic of father & son for comparison (taken last summer in Chicago with a dear friend in front of the apartment building I spent many happy years in).

I disagree. For true inner peace, we need to accept what’s out of our control, but we don’t have to tolerate it. There’s a difference. For example, my husband died a few months ago. And for the first months, I couldn’t accept it. I couldn’t begin healing until I did.

Today, I’m #grateful for #lemon meringue pie, one of my favorites. My mom made the best! What’s your favorite pie? Post inspired by the bountiful lemons being harvested right now here in the #Coachella valley.

Now,more than ever, I need to lean into this.

We are roughing it for a few days at a friend’s casita since our AC is out of commission during an unseasonably hot period in the desert. Joaquin seems to enjoy the view.
