In honor of Black History Month, I would like to recogize Ernest Everett Just. Dr. Just received his doctorate studying the mechanics of fertilization and conducted research at prestegious institutions like Howard, Dartmouth, University of Chicago, the Marine Biological Laboratories, and more.

Now economically underprivileged and culturally underrepresented students are losing access to STEM opportunities that were provided by NIH funding. As a scientist and educator, this makes me so sad and absolutely furious.
