Witnessing "two-eyed seeing" in action through this successful cultural burn was an incredible lesson in stewardship. The event was made possible through the partnership led by the Muwekma Ohlone Tribe. I am very grateful to have been invited to participate.

Coyote through my window
This #coyote has been visiting my office in the field station! In Chochenyo language the word for coyote is #mΓ‘yyan. The common name, coyote, is derived from the language NΓ‘huatl (Aztec) word #coyΕtl. The scientific name for coyote is Canis latrans, which translates from Latin as barking dog.
