Airbus Beluga XL. Big big cargo plane for carrying large items.
I’m sure there’s a joke there about carry on bags, but it’s not coming to me right now

My husband has taught human reproduction and development to the Cambridge medics for over three decades. When people start banging on about "only two biological sexes" he starts with "which sex: genetic, hormonal, or gonadal"?
Biological sex is not binary. www.scientificamerican.com/article/sex-...
I just attended a conference in the US. We had one speaker detained and two others turned away at the border.

Morgan Stanley planning for a 3°C world is an astonishing admission. It's a commitment to business as usual while writing off billions of lives and, in all likelihood, dozens of nation states.
According to the publication, the letter said that Trump’s executive order applied to companies outside the US if they were a supplier or service provider to the American government.
Financial Times: the Trump administration has sent a letter to some large companies in the EU warning them to comply with an executive order banning diversity, equity and inclusion programs.

This country is awash with money. The very rich are rich beyond imagination. So when Starmer wants to stay within his arbitrary fiscal rules, who does he decide to take money from? The very rich? No, from people with disabilities who depend on benefits for the bare minimum of a decent life.
For those who don’t know, “Big Berks” is the Berkshire Conference of Women Historians; yet another case of erasing groups under the current US regime

Google his name and the entry below comes up. When you click, you'll see the page has been deleted and the URL changed to include "DEI medal."

As a senior digital person in Higher Education, the thing i have to drill into everyone is that young people lie constantly on surveys.
Surveys are a game to be won, by saying the thing they think the old people want them to say.
They're not even conscious they're doing it. /1
Ladies, be your own Valentine. Buy yourself chocolates. Order yourself flowers. Bring yourself the head of your own enemy after seven years of bloody warfare to prove yourself worthy of your affection. It's called self-care.
Ongoing thread about the DOGE Bros, who turn out to not just be bad, but seemingly every possible kind of bad
Peter Goldsmith • 1st Professor, University of Illinois at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign 3h • G Today is a dark day when once there were so many winners. SIL, the Soybean Innovation Lab, will shutter its doors as of 4/15/25 as all USAID funding has ceased. Today I had to let go of a staff of 30. These individuals are not only unique experts in the field of tropical soybean, but also close colleagues and friends who are now unexpectedly out of work. The land grant system now loses 19 crown jewel Innovation Labs, across 17 states, that delivered high and measurable impact on very little investment. U.S. soybean farmers lose one of their best tools to expand their markets and U.S. standards globally. Local economies in emerging markets lose soybean as an incomparable engine growing wealth, prosperity, and economic development. International security is a loser, as local populations now fall back into poverty, unrest, and migration, due to greater food insecurity. U.S. influence loses as Innovation Labs operate on the ground in direct collaboration with hundreds of local businesses, organizations, and governments building strong and lasting friendships. Today we all lose. It is a shame. Innovation Labs like SIL are an investment for good on so many levels. You and 53 others 17 comments
The average Fox News viewer has no idea that Musk is tearing down a system that allowed this country to rule the world for the past 75 years. And when their standard of living slips dramatically in the next five years they still won’t understand because their TV will blame it on some poor scapegoat.
these aren’t the actions of people who are strong
these are the actions of weak losers

I guess it turns out that US leadership culture is nothing more than three insipid clichés in a trench coat.
Word of day is ‘unasinous’ (17th century): united in stupidity.
A riff on ‘unanimous’: which comes from the Latin for ‘one mind’. ‘Unasinous’ means ‘one ass’.
Worth reading, depressing but realistic. open.substack.com/pub/broligar...
